British Council visits Akwa Ibom State University

On Thursday, the 20th of July 2017, the duo of Mrs. Sephora Imomoh and Mr. Abidemi Kolawole representing the British Council, paid a courtesy call on the management of Akwa Ibom State University. Their visit was to explore avenues of possible collaboration in the development of skills and manpower.


Background of the British Council:
The British Council is the United Kingdom's international organisation for cultural relations and educational opportunities. 

They help create friendly knowledge and understanding between the people of the UK and other countries. This, they achieve by making a positive contribution to the UK and Nigeria – changing lives by creating opportunities, building connections and engendering trust.


The British Council  works with over 100 countries across the world in the fields of arts and culture, English language, education and civil society. The British Council was founded in 1934 and they have been in Nigeria since 1943. Every year, the British Council reaches out to thousands of students, educators, policy-makers, academics, researchers, creatives and entrepreneurs in Nigeria. It was against this backdrop and more, that they paid a visit to Akwa Ibom State University.
