Akwa Ibom State University (AKSU), on Friday 07/04/2017, officially admitted 2,020 students for 2016/17 academic session and advised them to be highly disciplined and focused on their academic endeavour.

The Vice Chancellor, Prof. Eno Ibanga, gave the advice during the 7th Matriculation Ceremony at Ikot Akpaden in Mkpat Enin Local Government Area. Professor Ibanga congratulated the students on their admission into the University, following their success in the UTME and screening exercises. He urged them to get a copy of the University’s handbook and get familiar with the rules that govern student’s life in the University.

The Vice-Chancellor sounded a very strong warning to the new students against cultism, examination misconduct as well as indecent dressing. To this, he said, the University has zero tolerance. The event which took place at the University’s ceremonial ground was witnessed by parents and guardians, as well as the Honourable Commissioner for Education - Paul Alexander Udofia, and Honourable Asuquo Edet Archibong, member representing Urue Offiong/Uruko at the Akwa Ibom State House of Assembly.

The Vice Chancellor concluded his speech to the new student by giving them a phone number, which he called AKSU VC Help Line. He asked them to make use of the phone to bring anything to his notice and seek assistance where necessary. The high point of the event was the signing of the matriculation register by the students.

We welcome them once more, to Akwa Ibom State University!
